Description

Fast, accurate battery drain diagnosis — without disturbing vehicle sleep mode.

Pinpoint Parasitic Drains in Minutes

The Current Monitor Pro is the professional’s choice for diagnosing parasitic battery drain.
Unlike a standard multimeter or amp clamp, it connects in-line with the vehicle’s negative
battery cable and delivers a stable, accurate current reading — even during extended sleep
cycle monitoring — without pulling a single fuse or waking an ECU.

Whether you’re chasing a stubborn overnight drain or benchmarking electrical health during a
WOF inspection, the Current Monitor Pro gives you ±3 mA accuracy and a built-in adjustable
alarm so you can step away while the car settles into sleep mode. When the threshold is
breached, it tells you.

Works standalone, with your existing multimeter, or connected directly to an oscilloscope as
a custom current input probe — making it one of the most versatile diagnostic tools in the
workshop.

  • In-line current measurement — no fuse pulling, no resetting modules
  • Adjustable sound and light alarm: 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 mA thresholds
  • No automatic sleep/power-off during long-duration tests
  • More accurate at low currents than a clamp meter — no drift over time
  • Connects to hard-to-reach locations unlike bulky current clamps
  • Three operating modes: standalone, with multimeter, or with oscilloscope
  • Standard 4 mm banana sockets on both sides for universal probe compatibility
  • Measures DC current to ±20 A continuous
  • 20 A fused input with fast-acting overload protection
  • Outstanding battery life — 300+ hours continuous (buzzer off)
  • Low battery alert at 2 V; auto power-off at 1.7 V
  • Compact and rugged — built for mobile and workshop use

The Current Monitor Pro is the right tool when:

  • Diagnosing a flat battery complaint — connect in-line and monitor drain as modules cycle into sleep mode
  • Verifying a repair — confirm parasitic draw is within acceptable limits before returning the vehicle
  • Routine electrical health checks — benchmark current draw during WOF or service inspections
  • Oscilloscope diagnostics — use as a 1 V/1 A current input probe to visualise current waveforms on any scope
  • Mobile service work — compact enough to carry on a van, no laptop or software required

Normal parasitic drain reference: Most modern vehicles draw between 10–50 mA with everything off. Readings above 80 mA typically indicate a fault. Allow 15–40 minutes for all control modules to enter sleep mode before recording your final measurement.

Note: For diesel vehicles (and as best practice on all vehicles), always make a parallel bypass connection before disconnecting the negative battery cable. See the included user manual for the correct connection procedure.
